Description
Antique Ashworths Chinoiserie plate, or could be Rathbones Pottery, rich brick reds, pinks, greens, lovely bright colours. I think this is the Temple pattern but might Ashworths who went on to be better known as Mason’s Ironstone. It’s hard to be sure as a few English factories produced similar patterns in the mid to late 19th century. It’s marked on the back in red No.1 with three red dots. Probably dates from 1850s. Good condition although some fine light crazing and some little flecks of glaze missing on edges. 23cms across.
