Ordering and Payment Information for antique and vintage ceramics and glass
ONLINE PAYMENTS: All online payments for our antique porcelain and vintage pottery and glass items are taken using secured payment pages. You may pay instantly in GB £ using your credit/debit card via our secure checkout powered by PayPal.
CHEQUE IN THE POST: We can also accept payment by £GB cheque sent in the post; but cannot ship items until the payment has cleared through our account (usually 7 working days from receipt of cheque).
POSTAL ORDERS: We accept postal orders and these are guaranteed funds so we can despatch items within 24 hours of receipt of your postal order.
BANK TRANSFER: We accept payment by bank transfer and the bank transfer details are provided along with BIC and IBAN number for overseas transfers

Postage, Packaging & Delivery of your antique or vintage porcelain, pottery or glass purchase
All goods are in stock and will be dispatched within 1 days of cleared payment (Monday to Friday only).
We pack our antique and vintage glass, porcelain and pottery professionally using multiple layers of bubble-wrap and lots of newspaper for padding. Our boxes are often recycled but we either use strong boxes or double boxes and mark delicate and antique items with FRAGILE.
UK Mainland Destinations for delivery of antique and vintage ceramics and glass
All items are shipped to United Kingdom mainland areas FREE OF CHARGE.
Unfortunately, we have to charge a subsidy for non mainland UK destinations such as Orkney Islands, Shetland Island, Hebridges, the Channel Islands, in short any islands as our couriers don’t always service these areas and we have to use other couriers who charge more or Royal Mail who charge a higher price for these regions.
The cost of International Airmail postage and packing is automatically calculated according to weight but only items that weigh up to 2kg packed can be sent by Airmail and those that can be safely packed with a 90cm overall size. Items over the value of £20.00 must be sent Royal Mail signed for as Royal Mail only covers for insurance purposes up to £20 on airmail or by a courier and we generally use UPS, Parcelforce or DPD for these but you will be informed of the courier used and the tracking information on despatch. We do not ship items via surface mail.
Customs, duties, taxes and any other similar charges are the sole responsibility of the customer and cannot be refunded, we will provide the correct documentation our end for couriers but it is up to the buyer to deal with any customs issues their end. We do sometimes experience delays in the UK for customs clearance if an item is flagged here by customs and we always endeavour to get the parcel moving as quickly as possible but can’t be responsible for delays caused by customs holding a parcel either in the UK or at its destination as we have no control over this. In the case of sending items to Russia and Brazil all items are sent signed for or tracked due to the lengthy time postage can take in these regions.
Refund & Exchange Policy on all our antique and vintage ceramics, glass and sundries
Whilst we try and select our vintage and antique ceramics and glass and other stock for its quality and condition, all items are between 20 to 180 years old (unless stated otherwise) and some wear is therefore to be expected. We always attempt to describe items accurately and mention clearly scratches, chips, cracks, hairlines or fleabites (if any) as these are necessary to mention over use related wear. We do not detail separately internal bubbles, flecks or manufacturing flaws in glass as these particularly in the case of handmade art glass, are part of the charm and history of the object and do not consider them problematic. However, if you are looking for utter perfection then we advise that you contact us and ask for specific information about a piece i.e. does it have bubbles, flecks or manufacturing flaws and a more detailed condition report or extra photographs of any item can be provided. We do mention crazing in the case of vintage and antique pottery and porcelain and excessive wear to any gilding on ceramics or glass but please expect some wear to gilding and some scratches and signs of use on antique and vintage ceramics. If an item is in utterly pristine condition we will also mention this but otherwise assume that vintage and antique items have been used so therefore are not going to look as new. Pease don’t hesitate to email us in advance of purchase.
We make every effort to ensure our descriptions and photographic images are as accurate as possible, however, the colours shown on this website are only approximate due to the influence of individual customer’s monitors/screens and their settings on photographic appearances which can cause colour variations. We do our best to ensure that the photographic images accurately reflect the items on our monitors, but colours should only be used as a guide as it’s often difficult to photograph glass and ceramics and match the colours perfectly. Once again If you are in any doubt whatsoever, please contact us for further details or additional photographs before purchasing.
No quibble money back guarantee on all our antique and vintage ceramics, glass and sundry items
In the rare event that you buy a piece of antique or vintage porcelain, pottery or glass and that item has been significantly mis-described by us (excluding the issues separately detailed above) we will offer you your money back in full or, if you prefer, an exchange – on the condition that you contact us within 14 days of receipt of the item and that you return it to us in the original condition it was received using the same, or similar level of packaging. We do not refund the postage costs for return unless the item was misdescribed by ourselves.
You are also entitled to a refund if you simply change your mind and do not want the item – providing you contact us within 7 days of receipt and return the item to us in the original condition it was received. If you need clarification on any of these points please don’t hesitate to contact us. We do not refund return postage on items where the buyer has changed their mind or does not like the item but will provide a returns label for any misdescribed or damaged items so that they may be returned to us. You must use our returns label when returning items and this can be sent to you on request.
In the unfortunate and unlikely event that loss or damage occurs to your antique or vintage pottery, porcelain or glas item during transit, you will be fully refunded immediately upon providing photos of the damaged item and we will then process our claim for compensation through the carrier. Please note: in cases of damage it is essential that you keep the damaged item AND all the original packaging and photograph this as it arrived, before contacting us and that you provide us with photos of both. The damaged item and the original packaging are very often required to be made available for inspection by the carrier in order to process our claim. In both events (loss or damage) you will not be penalised and will receive a full refund from us providing you adhere to these conditions.
