Rare Antique Arts and Crafts planter with three handles. This lovely antique art nouveau planter was sgraffito decorated by James Dewdney, a well known decorator at Brannam Pottery in Devon in the late 19th century. C.H Brannam or Brannams was a Devon pottery sometimes referred to as Barum ware. This lovely antique planter is one of Dewdney’s earlier works and is initialled JD and dated 1893. The pot is in fairly good condition for its age with no chips or cracks to the body, it may have had have some minor restoration as the glaze tends to flake. There are surface glaze flakes on the piece as is common with this pottery and crazing on the inside but it doesn’t really show outside. 13CMS HIGH AND 19CMS WIDE INCLUDING HANDLES.
